The CBCT scan at your consultation answers that in three dimensions rather than by guesswork. Where bone is limited we have options short of turning you away: Bicon short implants, socket preservation, ridge augmentation and sinus lifts. Usually three to six months from placement to the final tooth, because the implant needs to fuse with the bone. Grafting adds time. Where bone density allows, same-day placement with an immediate temporary is possible — the scan tells us whether you qualify.

Where bone density and initial stability allow, yes — the implant and a temporary tooth can go in at one appointment. We will not promise it before the CBCT scan, because whether it is safe depends entirely on your bone.

Titanium is the long-proven standard and suits most cases. Zirconia is metal-free and suits some patients better. We will tell you which we recommend for your case and why, rather than selling one as universally better.

Often partially. Most plans that cover implants treat the restoration like a crown or bridge and apply your annual maximum, so full-arch work usually exceeds one year’s benefit. Where it helps we can stage treatment across two benefit years to use two maximums. We accept Delta Dental and UHC and file out-of-network for other plans.

It is done under local anaesthetic, with nitrous oxide available if you want help relaxing. Most single-implant appointments are less eventful than people expect. We do not offer IV sedation or general anaesthesia.

They can, though modern success rates are high. The most common causes are smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, poor gum health and a bite that loads the implant badly — which is the one a prosthodontist is specifically trained to prevent. We will be straight with you at the consultation about any risk factors in your case.

Dentures cost less up front and can be made quickly, but they rest on the gums and the bone underneath keeps shrinking. Implants are placed in the bone, which preserves it.
